I’m going to keep posting information about Motorhome parking in the UK as I find it. The situation does keep on changing but it’s now very obvious that the Councils are becoming very enlightened and welcoming and realise that people who drive Motorhomes are an asset and should be encouraged to park locally and spend their money.
Here is a list of some updates that I have seen in the past month or so:
- Guisborough – The Fountain Street East car park now has two overnight parking spaces for Motorhomes.
- Colchester – The council is redesigning the entrance to it’s Priory Street car park to enable easier access fro Motorhomes and the Sheepen Road car park now has a 7 metre long Motorhome bay.
- Bournmouth – Four large vehicle bays are available in Centra, Upper Hinton Road and Winter Gardens car parks.
- Cambridge – The two park and ride car parks in Babraham Road and Trumpington have Motorhome bays and are now open on Sundays.
- Carrickfergus – There are two Motorhome bays with water and electric hook up in the Harbour and Whitehead car parks.
- Worcester – There are Motorhome bays provided in the towns park and ride car park.
- Stratford- I’ve mentioned these before but if you do decide to use them they are only for Motorhomes of 6.5 metres or less.
I’ll keep looking and post an update in a month or so and if you know of any then please let me know and I’ll publish them. It’s very important that we know where we can safely park our Motorhomes when we’re out and about.
Please have a look at the Motorhome Friendly and Unfriendly Parking web site for lots more information and Motorhome parking in the UK.
