Château de Lacomté is a beautiful looking site that is set in parkland, within a national park in the Lot region of France and has a great deal to offer if you are looking for tranquility, natural surroundings, medieval architecture, good wine and food and fantastic facilities.

The Lot region adjoins the Dordogne and is known for it’s charm, beautiful countryside and is steeped in history with the Cahors and the Knights Templar playing a big part.

There are 75 fully serviced pitches, all a minimum size of 110 sq m, offering 10 amp electrics, own drain and water tap.  All pitches are surrounded with flowering shrubs and trees thus giving each pitch some degree of privacy and shade whilst maintaining the 30 acre Park’s natural beauty.  There is also a gite,  two pine lodges and  a small number of  mobile homes for rent.

The facilities look superb with a modern toilet/shower block, fantastic swimming pool, restaurant and bar offering outside dining, live entertainment plus lots of recreational facilities.

The thing that sets this site apart from any others though are a couple of schemes they offer, one of which is geared up specifically for Motorhome users.

• If you’re healthy, happy and fit and would be prepared to give up 3 hours of your day, 6 days a week then you may be able to stay at Château de Lacomté for free.  You need to ring the site to discuss any opportunities they have or send them an email.  If you’re a musician then you can swap a ” free holiday ” for a ” free gig “.

• Château de Lacomté also offers a great service to Motorhome users by way of a ” Freedom Pitch ” .  For Motorhome owners a Freedom Pitch is ideal, it is a pitch the same as any other pitch with one exception, you are provided with a small car i.e Renault Twingo, Renault Clio, Fiat Punto or something similar. These vehicles are included in the cost of a Freedom Pitch, thus allowing you to leave the camping to go site-seeing, shopping or whatever else you may like to do with ease.

Château de Lacomté is very near to Cahors and Rocamadour, both magnificent places to visit but there are many more things of beauty to see in the region including some wonderful caves.
