Croft Park Caravan Site – an unexpected surpise

dscn0771.JPG    dscn0773.JPG    dscn0777.JPG    dscn0778.JPGCroft Park Caravan Site is a small and select adults only family run site near Beverley in East Yorkshire, situated just four miles from the South Cave junction of the A63. We needed somewhere to stay near to Hull at very short notice and Steve and Denise Fairburn came to our rescue.  The site is very peaceful and extremely well laid out and comprises the main site offering 10 flat all weather pitches including electricity, TV, water and waste water drainage hook ups.  There is a purpose built chalet on site that houses showers, toilets, washing and drying machines, a very cosy TV room and a room with a great deal of tourist information.  The Croft Park website is www.croftpark.net , the phone number is 01482 840600 and the site is open from March to October.

dscn0775.JPGThere is also a luxurious timber built fully furnished chalet to let. For further details ring Steve on  01482 840600

dscn0772.JPGAdjacent to Croft Park are another 10 mainly grass pitches with electricity that used to be a CL called Louvain historically but is now being brought up to the Croft Park standards by Steve and Denise.  These standards are very high and the site has been given a 5 star rating by “Visit Britain“  and is a member of the Tranquil Touring Parks association.  .

“Our intention is to provide an exclusive, children free site as an alternative to traditional family sites, where our customers can relax in friendly, clean and well maintained surroundings” says Steve and Denise in their brochure.  The site certainly lives up to this promise and going by the testimonials in the comments book lots of people agree with that.

Steve has a passion for antiques and there are various examples around the site and together with some very well laid out planting in both tubs and gardens it makes for a very interesting place to meander around.

dscn0769.JPGWithin the overall site is Millers Tea Room, Deli and Restaurant which is open daily except Monday and provides superb home cooked meals and snacks at very reasonable prices.  The service is fantastic and although Millers does get very busy at times it has two inside rooms and one outdoor seating area so you’ll find somewhere to sit.  Millers is not owned by Croft Park but is integrated into the site very well and gets a lot of outside visitors.  We found it a real boon having something like Millers on site and it made a great change to have this kind of facility on our doorstep.

The whole place has a fantastic ambience and is a very tranquil location to relax at. You will enjoy your visit and like us you’ll want to come back again.

The area around the site has a great deal to see including the large City of Hull with it’s Marina and fantastic aqaurium – The Deep, the historic town of Beverley, the quaint village of Walkington and the Humber Bridge to name but a few.  All are very close to the site and well worth a visit.
