On a recent trip to Lynton we were driving along the A399 having left the A361 prior to Barnstaple – this is the recommended route. The road was quite narrow and we noticed there were a series of telegraph poles very close to the road and partially hidden by overgrown bushes. Having seen the poles I was driving very cautiously when I approached a bend and around the bend came a large delivery van that I needed to keep out of the way of. At this point I took my eye off the poles and guess what happened next – one cracked wing mirror stalk and one shattered mirror. My advice would be to retract the passenger side mirror when travelling down this road.
